History
Camp Logos began in the year 1975 at a farm in Hamden, Ohio. The camp moved to Tar Hollow State Park in 1978 and has rented the facilities there ever since. Camp Logos was originally the vision of Marsha Swinehart, Kim Cox and Bob Haines at Chillicothe Bible church. Pastor Steve Byrd, the Pastor of New Lexington Bible Church became the next Director until 2012. Steve Benson who is an Elder at Athens Bible Church has been the camp director from 2012 until present.
Our Misson
The definition of the Greek word "Logos" means the Word of God. During camp week, our main goal is to share and interpret the Word of God to campers and to help develop an understanding and a personal relationship with the living word, Jesus Christ. We also strive to provide a safe environment for kids and teens to not only learn but enjoy the word of God and to participate in age-appropriate games and fun outdoor activities.
Our Facility and Staff
Camp Logos is a long-running joint venture of Athens Bible Church, New Lexington Bible Church, and Salem Bible Church and is staffed by Christian volunteers. In fact, most staff were once campers themselves.

Throughout the past, our sponsoring churches have invited numerous missionaries to serve as speakers and counselors at camp. Some of these missionaries are serving in countries such as South Africa, Central African Republic, Chile, and the Philipines.

Our facility is rented each year at Tar Hollow State Park which supplies us with an industrial-sized kitchen, lodge, cabins, chapel meetings and a beautiful view of the lake and swimming area. To assist with all of our camp needs there are at least two nurses on the campground at all times to help campers with medical needs, allergies, daily medications or minor injuries. Main kitchen staff have completed certified food safety courses and can consider any allergen and food needs if needed. Lifeguards are stationed on the dock and canoe lake at all times during swim time.
